Charities we support
For many years, we have raised funds through our activities and events, which have benefited a number of charities, both locally and Scotland based.
Since 2021, because of uncertainties around COVID we decided to support one charitable donation each year, selected by the President.
However, in 2024, we are supporting two charities:
(1) The President's choice - National Trust for Scotland in their endeavours to raise funds to save Burns Cottage in Alloway near Ayr, the birthplace of Robert Burns, and
(2) Ellesmere Port and Neston Community Transport which provides affordable transport for the community including those with mobility problems, living in rural areas or those who can't access conventional transport. This donation was given in memory of Dr Ian Gill who was the mainstay of the Association for many years.
